Today, the Trump Administration released its budget for fiscal year 2018 (FY 2018). The budget provides the President's recommendations for how the Congress should fund the government and marks the beginning of the FY 2018 budget season.

In addition to funding reductions for discretionary programs operated by the Department of Health and Human Services, the budget includes cuts to entitlement programs, including Medicaid.
“The President’s budget reflects the current Congressional debate over repeal of the Affordable Care Act as well as the Administration’s focus on reducing spending on domestic programs,” said Elizabeth Carpenter, a senior vice president at Avalere. “Importantly, the President’s budget is only the first step in the budget and appropriations process. Ultimately, Congress will make decisions about how to fund the government for the coming fiscal year.”
