Jonah Geddes

Director of Biostatistics

Jonah Geddes serves as a subject matter expert for biostatistical and epidemiological methods in support of advanced analytics, evidence generation, statistical programming, and pharmacoepidemiology.

Before joining Avalere Health, Jonah was a biostatistics senior manager in real-world evidence (RWE) at Walmart's Healthcare Research Institute, where he served as the principal quantitative methodologist for the development of study protocols, advanced analytic models, and value-based care assessments. Prior RWE roles include work as a principal pharmacoepidemiologist at Gilead Sciences and OncoHealth, along with eight years as biostatistician at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU).

Jonah has extensive experience utilizing varied sources of electronic health records and claims data for observational studies of utilization, costs, and health outcomes across multiple therapeutic areas including oncology (lung, breast), virology (COVID-19 antivirals, vaccines; AIDS/HIV PrEP), substance use disorders (opioids, benzodiazepines), and cardiovascular health (GLP-1). Some of his publications can be found in the Journal of the American Medical Association, Pharmacoepidemiology and Drug Safety, Journal of General Internal Medicine, Journal of Managed Care and Specialty Pharmacy, Pain, and other journals.

Jonah received a PhD in epidemiology from the OHSU School of Public Health, an MPH in health policy and clinical practice from the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth College, and an AB in biology from Harvard University.
